First, let me tell you a little bit about me, so you can better understand the services I'm offering. I'm an
Italian-American, born and raised in America and now living in Palmoli. Wanting to know more about
my family, I started researching my genealogy and discovered Palmoli. But, there was very little
information to be found on the internet about this small town in Abruzzo. Eager to learn more about the
town where my ancestors were born, I took a trip here. To make a long story short, I fell in love with
this enchanting town perched atop a hill (and one of its inhabitants) and, after a few trips, I decided to
stay here. Fortunately for me, I was able to have my italian citizenship recognized since my ancestors
were born here and I am now a proud citizen of Italy, and more precisely, Palmoli.
Having gone through the odyssey of finding Palmoli, researching, figuring out how to get here, and
getting my citizenship, I know that it can be a frustrating experience and there were many times I wished
I had someone who could give me a hand. So, I am offering the following services to those in need as
part of other services I offer here in Italy.
Travel arrangements:
To and from the airport in Rome or Pescara for groups or individuals. I will make arrangements with a
service to pick you and your group up.
I will also make arrangements at one of the local hotels if you are interested in staying in town.
Tours:
Local tours of the town
Tours to other sites of interest in the area (for ideas go to the page What to see)
Document service:
Need documents from Palmoli or from another local town? (See the neighboring towns page for other
towns from which documents can be obtained) It can be sometimes difficult to get them. I will go to
the town in person to obtain the document, send you a scanned copy so that you can have it quickly, and
also send you the original via secure mail. Fee = $25 per document. Documents available include birth,
marriage, and death records.
Genealogy service:
Don't have the time to do the research yourself? I will do the research for you in the local towns for a
reasonable fee. For a fee of $100 I will trace your family back 3 generations. For a 5 generation trace,
the fee is $250. Send me an email if you'd like more information.
Photos:
I would be happy to take digital photos of your ancestors birthplace, and send them to you - either
digitally, printed, or on a CD. If you know the address where your ancestor was born, send it to me
and I will take pictures of the outside of the house. Many of the streets and houses have changed
names, but I will track it down for you. The cost is $50 for one session with 5 to 10 pictures which will
be sent to you on a CD. This includes research to find the exact address, travel expenses, etc. If you are
not sure where your ancestor was born, please see the genealogy services offered above. Please note
that in some cases it isn't possible to find the exact house since the house numbers may have changed,
but pictures of the street will be provided.
Translations:
Have a document and you don't understand it? Would you like to write a letter to your relatives here,
but don't speak Italian? Interested in one of the properties on our for sale page? I can help. Price is
$20 per page for item translated.
